The Wicked Garden

Fragile, luminous, and quietly powerful, these works are not botanical studies, but meditations on emotional and psychological states—each drawing a portal to an inner landscape.

Among the Allium

Made through a process of careful repetition and fluid mark-making, these works occupy a space between observation and reverie. The titles—Verged Shade, Delicious Solitude, Fair Quiet—point to a state of withdrawal, or perhaps ease. They reference moments in the garden, but also moods: the pleasure of privacy, of stepping back, of letting forms arise without needing to name them. There is structure here, but also a kind of loosening—of thought, of self

Trees and Roots

These drawings are delicate and finely detailed, made on fine paper where stains, watermarks, and ink marks settle like traces of memory. They are not simply drawings of trees or plants, but part of an internal landscape—a quiet, emotional terrain. The titles, taken from forestry terms, hint at natural processes and hidden systems, suggesting roots that run deep beneath the surface of both land and mind.

Reflection

These are meditations on thought, memory, and the passage of time. Reflections in the water echo the mind’s shifting layers—uncertain, fluid, and sometimes obscured. The trees lean, stretch, or sink into the dark water, suggesting not just the physical world, but a reflective inner space where emotions and memories surface quietly.

Pomegranate

Echoing the fluid forms of traditional Chinese landscapes, each piece explores inner states of being through the motif of the pomegranate—a potent symbol of fertility, desire, and hidden knowledge
