The Wicked Garden was exhibited at the Botanical Garden of Valencia from 23 May to 7 September 2025. The 28 large-scale drawings, created between 2019 and 2025, were inspired by the artist’s time in the botanical garden of Madrid. Made with ink on Chinese paper, the works measure 69 × 135 cm (and 52 × 232 cm in the Pomegranate series). They depict plants and trees—but also hold echoes of memory, myth, and poetry. Like a garden, the works invite wandering. Each piece is a threshold—an opening into a landscape of the mind, where nature and imagination intertwine. The exhibition also included glass cabinets displaying book-based works, among them pages from a copy of Charles Darwin’s On the Origin of Species, evoking the tradition of scientific specimen collections.
